Colleen Atwood, the Costume Designer – Edward Scissorhand

As someone who is interested in Art, Fashion or Design, do you look at the costumes people wear in your favourite movie? Or have you ever seen a movie where you were particularly captivated by the garments, their form, colour or other things? I’m sure that a lot of people would nod to these questions, but when you think about who made these costumes .. well, not a lot would now come up with any specific name. I believe that it is interesting and fun to look at costume designers, especially because we come across them all the time in big hollywood, or small contemporary movies. So next time when someone asks a question about a movie you might be able to say more than ‘oh they certainly had a gorgeous wardrobe‘. In order to achieve this I’ve decided to each week give you a very quick visual intro to the big figures in costume design. It is very likely that you too have watched one or more of these : Edward Scissorhands, Gattaca, Chicago, Memoirs of a Geisha, Mars Attack!, Sleepy Hollow, The Silence of the Lambs, Rush, Golden Dreams, Sweeney Todd, Alice in Wonderland, The Tourist, In Time or The Rum Diary. And these  happen to be just outtakes of the massive list Colleen Atwood has accomplished to be the costume designer of in the past years.
( I’m sorry about the different sizes but these have been collected throughout the internet)
